The juvenile courts of Colorado have procedures that are distinct from adult criminal courts. If you have been charged, the main goal is to make sure there are no major long-term consequences. I will also explore all opportunities to seek an acquittal, lower the charges and minimize the damages. I am prepared to defend clients charged with a wide variety of juvenile crimes, including:
- Criminal Mischief
- Vandalism
- Drug Possession
- Car Theft
- Assault and Fighting
- Sexual Assault
There are many alternative sentencing options available in juvenile court that are geared towards rehabilitation. In the event of a conviction, I will continue to fight for you through the sentencing phase, and pursue every opportunity to protect your future.
Juveniles Charged as Adults
For some crimes, juveniles can be charged as adults. You must be at least fourteen and have been charged with a class one or class two felony or a crime of violence. Juveniles charged with adult crimes can be placed in county jail with adult offenders pending trial, and a conviction may lead to incarceration in prison with hardened criminals. With much more serious potential consequences in criminal court, my first goal is to lower the charges and have your case heard in juvenile court.
